PASSED THE SENATE

 

SR 189, PN 1197: This resolution designates October 2005 as “William Penn’s Charter of Privileges Month” in Pennsylvania.  A vote of 48-0 was recorded.

SB 74, PN 1150: This legislation would implement changes to the state’s child custody laws, as suggested by the Joint State Government Commission Task Force and Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Law.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SB 601, PN 1239: This bill would restrict most companies and state agencies from publicly posting a person’s Social Security number, printing it on an identification card, requiring its transmission over an unencrypted Internet connection, requiring its use for accessing an Internet site, or sending it through the mail.  Sen. Logan offered amendment A3137, which would bar individuals from disclosing the Social Security number of an applicant for a hunting or fishing license.  The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.

HB 816, PN 2854: This bill would make an appropriation to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.  Sen. Fumo offered amendment A3034, which would increase the appropriation to $52 million.  The Senate agreed to the amendment, and a vote of 49-0 was recorded for the bill.

HB 1069, PN 2762: This legislation would entitle activated reservists and members of the Pennsylvania National Guard to up to 15 days of additional military leave of absence each year.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

HB 859, PN 2853: This bill would clarify that a school district of the first class A may levy a tax on transfer of real property or on an interest in real property at a rate of one percent.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
