PASSED THE SENATE

 

SR 168, PN 1167: This resolution designates the week of October 23-29, 2005, as “Respiratory Care Week” in Pennsylvania and commends respiratory therapists for their outstanding contributions to health care.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 361, PN 1240: This legislation would require school districts to provide access to extracurricular activities for students enrolled in home education.  A vote of 33-17 was recorded.

SB 384, PN 1244: This bill would authorize annuitant associations to obtain pertinent annuitant data from the PSERS Board for the purposes of promoting memberships within that association.  Sen. Piccola offered amendment A3103, which would define an “active employee association” and provide for such organizations just as annuitant associations.  The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.

SB 601, PN 1239: This legislation would take steps to secure Pennsylvanians’ personal information by prohibiting individuals, businesses, and state agencies from posting a person’s Social Security number publicly or requiring its transmission over the Internet.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded for the bill.

HB 1435, PN 2109: This legislation would amend the Crimes Code to add the criminal offense of computer-assisted remote harvesting of animals.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 629, PN 1245: This bill would amend the Crimes Code to add municipal employees to the list of officials and employees enumerated under the aggravated assault law.  Sen. Tartaglione offered amendment A2944, which was technical in nature.  The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the bill was moved up.

SR 191, PN 1236: This Democratic-sponsored resolution memorializes Congress to appropriate supplemental funds for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
