SB 629, PN 1371: This bill wound amend the Crimes Code to add
municipal employees and mass transit workers to the list of officials
and employees enumerated under the aggravated assault law, which
currently includes police officers, firefighters, teachers, district
attorneys, and others. Sen. Piccola offered amendment A4247, which
removes municipal employees from the bill. The Senate agreed to the
amendment, and the bill went over as amended.
SB 895, PN 1372:
This legislation would make it unlawful to taunt or torture an animal
used by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority Police
Department. Sen. Costa offered amendment A4256, which includes Port
Authority Police Department animals under this bill. The Senate agreed
to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.
HB 1509, PN 1843:
This bill would authorize the Department of General Services to grant
and convey an access and utility easement in Hempfield Township,
Westmoreland County, in exchange for improvements to be made for the
benefit of SCI-Greensburg. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
