PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 868, PN 1332: This bill would increase the payment in lieu of taxes for forestlands owned by the state under the Forest Reserves Municipal Financial Relief Law.  Currently, the payment to counties, townships, and school districts is 40 cents per acre.  This bill would increase the payment to $1.20 per acre.  A vote of 49-1 was recorded.

SB 178, PN 1374: This legislation would amend the Crimes Victims Act of 1998 relating to the crime of identity theft.  Sen. Corman offered amendment A4252, which would increase the membership of the Victims’ Service Advisory Committee from 10 to 11 appointees.  The Senate agreed to the amendment.  The bill was tabled, removed from the table, and placed on the next day’s calendar.

SB 629, PN 1371:  This bill would amend the Crimes Code to add mass transit workers to the list of officials and employees enumerated under the aggravated assault law, which currently includes police officers, firefighters, teachers, district attorneys, and others.  A vote of 42-8 was recorded.

HB 1956, PN 3104: This legislation would repeal the salary increase enacted for the General Assembly, the Judiciary, and members of the Executive Branch.  All salaries will revert to levels that were in effect on July 6, 2005.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
