PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 736, PN 1411: This bill would amend the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act to grandfather commercial structures that did not obtain certificates of occupancy under the previous Fire and Panic Act and that have been declared “illegally existing.”  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SB 881, PN 1414: This legislation would limit municipalities from using eminent domain to condemn property for private enterprise.  Sen. Piccola offered amendment A4908, which would create an exception for areas in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware Counties previously certified as blighted and further define blight with regard to single and multiple properties.  The Senate agreed to the amendment, and a vote of 49-0 was recorded on the bill.

SB 897, PN 1369: This legislation would establish new procedures to govern condemnations.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SB 1034, PN 1398: This bill would increase the state appropriation for payment of law enforcement officers’ and emergency response personnel death benefits.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
