HB 163, PN 3311:
This bill would remove the pension-offset provision in Pennsylvania’s
unemployment compensation law and prohibit employees from receiving
unemployment compensation while receiving severance. Sen. Orie offered
amendment A5231, which removed the severance provision. The Senate
agreed to the amendment, and a vote of 50-0 was recorded on the bill.
HB 603, PN 676:
This bill would include game wardens and wildlife conservation officers
as “enforcement officers” and provide them with the retirement
provisions offered to other state law enforcement officers. A vote of
45-5 was recorded.

This legislation would create the Residential Construction Dispute
Resolution Act and provide for dispute resolution procedures relating to
residential construction defects between contractors and homeowners or
members of associations. A vote of 48-2 was recorded.

This bill would provide for electronic postmarks and allow agencies to
devise policies and procedures for their use. A vote of 50-0 was
recorded.
HB 1686, PN 3174:
This bill would amend several provisions of the Crimes Code relating to
paintball guns and paintball markers. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
HB 1690, PN 3218:
This legislation would institute a youth hunter mentor program and
permit hunters or trappers to use bait to attract coyotes. A vote of
50-0 was recorded.
SB 660, PN 1423:
This bill would amend the Probate, Estates and Fiduciaries Code to
codify the Uniform Trust Act. Sen. Greenleaf offered amendment A5180,
which repealed the rule against perpetuities for all interest created on
or after January 1, 2007, brought the language on fiduciary compensation
into line with comments accompanying the Uniform Trust Act, conformed
language to Act 42 of 2005, and made other technical changes. The
Senate agreed to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.
SB 157, PN 1422:
This bill would amend the Local Tax Enabling Act to provide further for
collection of the Emergency and Municipal Services (EMS) Tax, now called
the Local Services Tax. Political subdivisions would be required to
exempt low-income workers (less than $12,000 annually) from the $52 tax
and deduct the tax per pay period similar to income and other taxes. A
vote of 46-4 was recorded on concurrence in House amendments, as amended
by the Senate.
