PASSED THE SENATE

 

SR 21, PN 219  This resolution declares March 2005 as “American Red Cross Month” in Pennsylvania.  A 46-0 vote was recorded.

SB 146, PN 131  This bill amends the Public School Code to direct intermediate units to coordinate academic programs for school districts and to establish academic improvement teams for school districts.  A 46-0 vote was recorded.

SB 147, PN 132  The bill amends the Public School Code to require the Department of Education to provide technical assistance to certain schools upon request.  A similar piece of legislation passed the Senate last session, and this bill would supplement the federal requirement (under No Child Left Behind) that the department assist schools that have not met adequate yearly progress for two or more years.  A 46-0 vote was recorded.

SB 149, PN 217  This bill provides funding for the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Fund, directing one-quarter mill of the Capital Stock-Franchise Tax to be transferred from the General Fund.  If enacted, this bill would cost the General Fund approximately $36 million in FY 2004-05.  A 46-0 vote was recorded.

SB 199, PN 191  This bill amends the Supplemental Public Transportation Account, temporarily removing the $75 million cap on appropriations for mass transit from sales tax revenue.  This legislation would cost the General Fund approximately $22 million in FY 2004-05.  A 46-0 vote was recorded.
