PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 69, PN 650 This bill would amend the Judicial Code to provide employers with civil immunity from defamation lawsuits resulting from negative job references given for former or current employees.  As amended, the bill would provide for certain situations where an employee might still be able to sue over a negative reference, such as if the employer knowingly provided false information about the employee.  A 47-0 vote was recorded.
