PASSED THE SENATE

SB 69, PN 650 This bill would amend the Judicial Code to provide employers with civil immunity for the disclosure of information about former or current employees.  Senator Vance offered amendment A0230, which provides additional protection for employees by making explicit the circumstances in which an employee may bring a civil lawsuit against an employer.  If the employer knowingly reveals false information, information that was materially misleading, or information that is prohibited from disclosure, the civil immunity can be revoked.  The burden of proof is on the employee to show that the employer was not acting in good faith.  The Senate agreed to the amendment.
