PASSED THE SENATE

 

SR 129, PN 921: This resolution recognizes June 18, 2005 as “Juneteenth National Freedom Day” in Pennsylvania.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

HB 402, PN 2067: This measure designates a State Route in Erie County, redesignates a bridge in Luzerne County and designates a State Route in Allegheny County.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 410, PN 927: The bill establishes the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education and also its board.  Senator Mary Jo White offered Amendment A1739, which included a sunset provision for section 3.1 of the bill.  This section addresses the creation and maintenance of an environmental education.  The remainder of the amendment was technical.  The amendment was agreed to.

SB 651, PN 748: The bill amends the Library Code to extend the authority of the State Librarian to waive certain mandates upon request of a local library.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 679, PN 781: The bill amends the Public School Code to extend the Act 48 compliance deadline for certain Pennsylvania certified professional educators.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 688, PN 922: This bill authorizes the Department of General Services, with the approval of the Governor and the Department of Environmental Protection, to grant and convey to Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority certain lands situate in the City of Erie, County of Erie.  Senator Earll offered Amendment A1746, which added a restriction that no portion of the property conveyed can be used for gaming.  The remained of this amendment was technical.  The amendment was agreed to.

SB 697, PN 875: This bill authorizes the Department of General Services, with the approval of the Governor, to grant and convey to Basalt Trap Rock Company in Morgan and Franklin Townships, Greene County, Pennsylvania.  Senator Stout offered Amendment A1736, which added a restriction that no portion of the property conveyed can be used for gaming.  The amendment was agreed to.

SB 706, PN 928: This measure designates a bridge in Butler County the General Richard Butler Bridge.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 721, PN 865: This bill designates portions of U.S. Route 6 in Wyoming county known as the Tunkhannock bypass and a portion of State Route 92 in Susquehanna County as Scenic Byways.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SR 125, PN 856: This resolution encourages the United States Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency to release funds to the states from the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SR 130, PN 926: The resolution urges the President and the Congress of the United States and all members of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission to remove the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, from the list of military base closures recommended by the Department of Defense.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.
