PASSED THE SENATE

 

HR 243, PN 1708: The resolution memorializes Congress to remove the budgetary cap on the Federal Crime Victims Fund (created by the Crime Victims Act of 1984) and release all monies appropriated to the Fund for distribution under federal grants and victim assistance.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 652, PN 973: The legislation amends the Public School Code to clarify that school districts that receive grant funding through the educational assistance program or the accountability block grant program may utilize such funds for tutoring programs offered to eligible students during the school day.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 686, PN 974: The legislation amends the Public School Code to clarify certain provisions relating to the payment and auditing of approved private schools and chartered schools for the deaf and blind.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 361, PN 366: The bill would require school districts to permit students enrolled in home education programs to participate in extracurricular activities.  These activities shall include, but not be limited to, clubs, musical ensembles, sports and theatrical productions.  A 34-16 vote was recorded.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 672, PN 878: The bill amends the Public School Code to require that school district budgets be prepared in the format required by the Department of Education and adds further requirements.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

HB 1110, PN 1317: This bill designates State Route 56 in Seward, Westmoreland County, as the Ricky Hafer Highway; and designating State Route 711 in Seward, Westmoreland County, as Aaron Rusin Boulevard.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

HB 815, PN 2282: This is the General Appropriations Act for 2005-06 as well as supplementals for 2004-05.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.
