PASSED THE SENATE

 

SR 144, PN 1024: This resolution recognizes that during the Vietnam War the Federal Government used more than 10.6 million gallons of the herbicide and defoliant, known as “Agent Orange”.  A 50-0 was recorded.

The Senate amended the following bills:

SB 709, PN 1016: The bill amends the Local Tax Collection Law by further providing for and authorizing various installment payments with respect to the collection and payment of school property taxes.  Senator Brightbill offered Amendment A02521 which allows for school districts to increase the compensation for tax collectors.  The amendment was agreed to.

HB 129, PN 2066: This bill amends Title 74 to provide for flying while impaired.  Senator Stack offered Amendment A02338 which increases the penalty for flying under the influence when an accident results in death or bodily injury.  The amendment was agreed to.

SB 196, PN 409: The bill provides immunity for physicians who report the suspected illicit use of prescribed controlled substances.  Senator Rafferty offered Amendment A01710 which was technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to.

Executive Nominations

The Senate approved the following executive nominations.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

  • Marita Crawford, State Board of Cosmetology

  • Leon W. Tucker, Esquire, Judge, Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas
