The resolution is expressing support of the efforts of the United States
Secretary of the Interior to study the feasibility of designating the
Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Watertrail as a national

SB 584, PN 1029:
The bill adds Section
5104 to Title 18 (Crimes Code) making it an offense to disarm a law
enforcement officer or a corrections officer or to deprive such an
officer of a weapon. The Senate concurred with a 50-0 vote.
HB 157, PN 2428:
This bill amends the County Code to provide penalties for failure to
remit hotel taxes and excise taxes imposed in certain counties of the
third class and to provide for an increased hotel room rental tax in
certain other third class counties. A 44-6 vote was recorded.
SB 565, PN 1038:
This bill makes the position of District Attorney full time in counties
of the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh class and counties of the
eighth class under certain circumstances. A 49-1 vote was recorded.
HB 129, PN 2435:
This bill creates Chapter 65 in Title 74, Transportation, which will
create an offense and penalties for Flying While Impaired in
Pennsylvania. The bill would make it a second-degree misdemeanor to
operate any aircraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A
50-0 vote was recorded.
HB 398, PN 386:
The bill
would add the House Parliamentarian, and remove the House Chief Clerk,
as a nonvoting member of the Legislative Data Processing Committee. A
50-0 vote was recorded.
SB 709, PN 1039:
This bill amends the Local Tax Collection Law to allow counties and
municipalities to offer the option of up to twelve installment payments
with regard to the collection and payment of its taxes. A 50-0 vote was
recorded.
SR 145, PN 1025:
This resolution urges the President and Congress of the United State and
the members of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission to
remove the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, the
Charles E. Kelly Support Center and the 99th Regional
Readiness command from the list of base closures and realignments. The
resolution was adopted.
SR 147, PN 1033:
The resolution states that the Senate of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania urges the Congress, in developing an energy policy, to
refrain from taking action that would develop legislation or have the
effect of preventing or hindering the exploration, drilling, development
and production of natural gas in the Great Lakes, including, but not
limited to, Lake Erie. The resolution was adopted.
