SB 513, PN 1654:
This bill amends the Act of May 1, 1933 (P.L. 103, No. 69), also known
as the Second Class Township Code. The bill removes “assessors” as an
elected office of these municipalities, and changes it to an appointment
to be filled by the township supervisors. Senator Gordner offered
amendment A7317 that removes provisions for appointing assessors and
restores original language. The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the
bill went over as amended.
SB 514, PN 1676:
This bill amends the Act of May 21, 1943 (P.L., 571, No. 254), also
known as The Fourth to Eighth Class County Assessment Law. The bill
removes “assessors” as an elected office of second class townships, and
changes it to an appointment to be filled by the township supervisors.
Senator Gordner offered amendment A7316 that removes language for
appointment of assessors. The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the
bill went over as amended.
SB 703, PN 847:
This bill amends Title 75 as it pertains to motorists’
responsibilities. A vote of 48-0 was recorded.
SB 935, PN 1226:
This bill amends the Crimes Code by adding a section relating to the
offense of “failure to provide identification to law enforcement
authorities”. Senator Costa offered amendment A5962 that does not
compel a person to answer any questions when being detained for the
purpose of providing identification. Senator Corman offered amendment
A7341 that is technical in nature. The Senate agreed to the amendments,
and the bill went over as amended.
SB 957, PN 1550:
This bill amends the Crimes Code to add a section relating to the new
criminal offense of “robbery on the premises of a financial
institution”. Senator Waugh offered amendment A7338 that clarifies
language regarding robbery of financial institutions. The Senate agreed
to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.
SB 1150, PN 1679:
This bill amends the Crimes Code establishing the offense of protesting
at a commemorative service. A vote of 48-0 was recorded.
SB 707, PN 1674:
This bill amends the Cosmetology Law to add definitions, provide various
licensing requirements, and substitute the term “salon” for the term
“shop” throughout the act. Senator Erickson offered amendment A7223
that restores required hours of education back to current levels. The
Senate agreed to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.
