PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 1159, PN 1608:  This bill would appropriate $4.9 million to the Office of Consumer Advocate for operating costs in the 2006-07 fiscal year.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

SB 1161, PN 1600:  This legislation would appropriate $60.4 million from the Workmen’s Compensation Administration Fund to the Department of Community and Economic Development and Office of Small Business Advocate for the 2006-07 fiscal year.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded

SB 1162, PN 1601:  This bill would appropriate $53.3 million to the Public Utility Commission for the 2006-07 fiscal year.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

HB 121, PN 3878:  This legislation would make several changes to the Vehicle Code.  Sen. Boscola offered amendment A7372, which would specify that a vehicle operator could face fines if snow or ice falls from the vehicle, strikes another vehicle or pedestrian, and causes death or serious bodily injury.  The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the bill went over as amended.

SB 513, PN 1717:  This bill would make changes to the Second Class Township Code to eliminate the office of elected assessor in second-class townships.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

SB 514, PN 1718:  This legislation would make changes to the Fourth to Eighth Class County Assessment Law to eliminate the office of elected assessor in second-class townships.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

SB 707, PN 1721:  This bill would update the Cosmetology Law to add several new limited licenses.  This legislation would also increase training requirements for licensed cosmetologists.  A vote of 46-1 was recorded.

SB 935, PN 1719: This legislation would amend the Crimes Code to make it a third-degree misdemeanor for failing to identify oneself to a law enforcement officer, upon request, after being stopped on reasonable suspicion for the commission of a crime.   A vote of 46-1 was recorded.

SB 957, PN 1720: This bill would amend the Crimes Code to create a new offense of robbery on the premises of a financial institution.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.

HB 1618, PN 3724: This legislation would amend the Public School Code to allow children with disabilities to participate in graduation ceremonies after completing a special education program even if their individualized education program prescribes continued education after the fourth year of high school.  A vote of 47-0 was recorded.
