PASSED THE SENATE

 

House Bill 2443, PN 4193:  This bill amends the Health Care Facilities Act, providing for continuation of demonstration projects for cardiac care.  A final vote of 48-0 was recorded.

House Bill 153, PN 3756:  This bill creates the Organ and Bone Marrow Donor Act to increase donations, special leaves of absence, and tax credits for organ and bone marrow donors.  Senator Wenger offered amendment A7234 that strikes language that limits the credit only to net profits tax.  Senator Mellow offered amendment A7827 that is technical in nature.  Senator Mellow offered amendment A7894 that amends the definition of “leave of absence” to exclude the use of annual or sick leave time used by the employee.  The amendments were agreed to and the bill went over as amended. 

Senate Bill 1046, PN 1716:  This bill, also known as “Nicholas’ Law,” would require all pool owners to secure their pools with a locked barrier.  Senator Mellow offered amendment A7410 that defines that “in use” of a pool includes activities going on around the pool and permits child safety locks to be considered under this bill.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended. 

Senate Bill 1222, PN 1810This bill designates sections of US Route 6 in Crawford County and Pike County.  Senator Robbins offered amendment A7901 that is technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.
