SB 303, PN 1780:  The bill amends the Judicial Code to further provide for constable fees.  The Senate concurred on House amendments and a final vote of   50-0 was recorded.

SB 601, PN 1791:  This bill would create an act relating to the confidentiality of Social Security numbers.  The Senate concurred on House amendments and a final vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 1056, PN 1809: This measure amends Title 75, Vehicles pertaining to exceptions from CDL requirements in the case of declared emergencies.  The Senate concurred on House amendments and a final vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 812, PN 1787:  This bill amends the Fiscal Code to further provide for unclaimed tangible personal property held by Courts and Public Officers and Agencies.  A final vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 944, PN 1813:  The legislation amends Title 18 (Crimes Code) and Title 42 (Judicial Code) further providing for criminal sentences for certain sexual offences and further providing for the registration and public notification of sex offenders and sexually violent predators.  Senator Orie offered amendment A8238 that sets different sentencing ranges for offenders based on age for the crimes of rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse where the victim is a child.  A person under the age of 18 convicted of rape or involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child shall be sentenced to a minimum term of imprisonment not to exceed 40 years.  A person 18 years of age or older shall be sentenced to a minimum fixed by the court of not less than 25 years and a maximum term of 50 years.  A person convicted of rape or involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child with serious bodily injury shall be sentenced to a minimum term of 50 years up to a maximum term of life in prison.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SB 1000, PN 1626:  This bill shall be known as the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act.  Senator Tomlinson offered amendment A7060 that exempts retailers that have $50 million in annual net profits from registering, subcontractors and independent contractors do not have to register, requires notice of bankruptcy filings within the last 10 years, a contractor can petition the court after 5 years if he or she’s registration is suspended, and clarifies that this act shall not preclude a consumer from exercising their rights under the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. 

Senator Connie Williams offered amendment A7893 that clarifies that the contract entered between the consumer and the contractor shall include the exact amount of liability insurance coverage that the contract has at the time the contract is signed.

The amendments were agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SB 1054, PN 1837:  The legislation amends Title 42 (Judicial Code) to further provide for assessments and for information concerning sex offenders that is provided on the Megan’s Law Internet website administered by the Pennsylvania State Police.  Senator Conti offered amendment A8150 that is technical in nature.

SB 1206, PN 1763:  This bill designates a road in Jefferson County.  A final vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 506, PN 1798:  The bill codifies Title 61, consolidating in one body of the law acts relating to prisons, probation and parole.  Senator Greenleaf offered amendment A8098 that is technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SB 917, PN 1800:  This bill amends the Real Estate Appraisers Certification Act to add the new categories of “licensed appraiser” and “appraiser trainee” and to provide for reciprocity, for certification and licensure renewal and for disciplinary measures.  Senator Pileggi offered amendment A7992 that is technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.
