PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 243, PN 1836: This bill would include sheriffs and deputy sheriffs under the Enforcement Officer Disability Benefits Law. A vote of 49-0 was recorded on concurrence in House amendments.

SB 896, PN 1177: This bill would prohibit telemarketers from making collect calls to consumers. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SB 993, PN 1893: This legislation would amend the Tax Reform Code to consolidate the tax appeals process for corporations in Pennsylvania. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

HB 1528, PN 4309: This bill would require taxidermists to register with the state Department of Agriculture. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

HB 2383, PN 4400: This legislation would require the Liquor Control Board’s Bureau of Alcohol Education to prepare a report every two years on drinking at the state’s colleges and universities. This bill would also permit an entity located in a dry municipality to obtain a special occasion permit if the municipality is supportive. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

HB 2425, PN 3822: This bill would provide for the recording of deeds and other documents relating to real property. A vote of 49-0 was recorded. 

HB 2542, PN 4003: This legislation would clarify a section in the Uniform Commercial Code relating to the effectiveness of financing statements filed before June 1, 2001. A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

HB 2740, PN 4349: This bill would designate a bridge on State Route 68 as the “Sergeant Carl F. Curran Memorial Bridge.” A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SR 208, PN 1965: This resolution would direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study the cost-effectiveness of consolidating school districts in Pennsylvania. Sen. Tomlinson offered amendment A8875, which gives the committee an additional six months to deliver the report. The Senate agreed to the amendment, and the resolution went over as amended.

SR 325, PN 1948: This resolution designates August 2006 as “Pennsylvania Produce Month.” A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
