PASSED THE SENATE

 

HB 700, PN 4887 - This bill is the Lobbying Accountability Act.  It provides for the registration, regulation and disclosure of all lobbying activities. This bill passed the Senate unanimously but there was an error in the drafting process.  The House made the correction and sent the bill back to the Senate.  This represents the corrective reprint.  A final vote of 48-0 was recorded on concurrence.

SB 862, PN 2218 - This bill re-enacts the Senate version of the Gaming Reform with compromised changes that include elimination of suppliers.  The House amended this version to include deletion of a definition of “associated area”, deletion of the section on “Reparian Rights” and further requiring casinos to comply with local ordinance banning indoor smoking (rather than statewide)  and language pertaining to contributions from applicants for horse racetrack licenses.  A final vote of 48-0 was rcorded on concurrence.

SB 1237, PN 2221 - The bill authorizes the Department of General Services to grant and convey certain lands in Lackawanna County, Lancaster County, Tioga County, and to lease land in Philadelphia County.  This bill was amended in the Senate Rules to eliminate sections regarding the sale of waterfront property in Philadelphia and allows for gaming establishments in certain areas of Philadelphia if the licenses are granted.  A final vote of 48-0 was recorded on concurrence.
