SR 25, PN 87: The resolution designates the week of March 18
through 24, 2007, as "Land Surveyors Week" in Pennsylvania. A final
vote of 49-0 was recorded and the resolution was adopted.
SB 71, PN 18: The bill amends the Public School Code to require
schools for the 2007-2008 school year to adopt a policy related to
bullying or to include such policy as part of its existing Code of
Student Conduct. Such policies will include discipline consequences and
may include prevention and intervention techniques. A final vote of
42-6 was recorded.
SB 157, PN 53: The legislation amends the Public School Code to
direct intermediate units to coordinate academic programs for school
districts and to establish academic improvement teams for school
districts. A final vote of 44-4 was recorded.
SB 158, PN 22: The legislation amends the Public School Code to
provide for the establishment of parent involvement programs and
policies in school districts. A final vote of 38-10 was recorded.
SB 219, PN 54: The bill amends Section 1209 of the Public
School Code to add certified registered nurse practitioners and
physicians’ assistants to the list of professionals who can perform the
physical tests needed by teachers in order to get their certification.
Senator Mellow offered Amendment A0058 which was technical. The Senate
agreed to the amendment.
