PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 150, PN 567:  The legislation is the Sexual Violence Protection Act relating to the protection of victims of sexual violence.  A final vote of 48-0 was recorded. 

SB 151, PN 95:  The bill amends the Crimes Code expanding and clarifying the provisions prohibiting contraband.  Senator Greenleaf offered amendment A00248, which defines facility and inserts it throughout the legislation.  The bill went over as amended.  

SB 356, PN 568:  This bill amends the “Environmental Education Act” (Act 24 of 1993) to establish the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education.  The responsibilities of the center will include promoting partnerships with educators, businesses, and environmental organizations.  The center will also be responsible for inventorying and disseminating environmental education materials and evaluating the effectiveness of existing environmental education programs. A final vote of 48-0 was recorded.   

SB 397, PN 122: The bill adds a section to the Judicial Code providing for a central or regional booking fee and for a booking center plan.  Senator Regola offered amendment A00288, which takes out the section that reads no funds may be disbursed from the fund for start-up operations or maintenance of a booking center unless the plan has been certified by the commission.  The amendment also requires guidelines to be adopted within 90 days of the effective date relating to the technology standard.  The bill went over as amended. 

SB 86, PN 120:  This bill further provides for the business of selling or reselling of tickets over the internet.  Senator Tomlinson offered amendment A00284, which would allow the reselling of tickets to businesses that have a presence in the Commonwealth along with a registered agent, a foreign business license or a certificate of authority issued by the Department of State.  The bill went over as amended. 

SR 60, PN 648:  The resolution urges the Rendell Administration and its Department of Public Welfare to continue to provide medical assistance health care through a established voluntary managed care system until a comprehensive study and review of the change to a mandated Access Plus program is completed and full input is obtained from affected medical assistance consumers and health care providers.  Furthermore, an opportunity for public comment and legislative consideration take place before accountable measures are established.  The resolution was adopted a unanimous vote.
