SB 385, PN 1152: This bill would provide for Voice over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service and establish the VoIP
Emergency Services Fund. A vote of 50-0 was recorded
SB 799, PN 891: This bill amends the Rural Pennsylvania
Revitalization Act (Act 16 of 1987) by adding the regional campuses of
the University of Pittsburgh to the list of colleges and universities
whose faculty members are eligible for grants from the Center. A quorum
is changed from 6 members to a simple majority and it increases the
maximum grant amount from $50,000 to $60,000. Senator Gordner offered
amendment A1339 that adds agriculture and health and welfare to the
subject areas of the grant program. The Senate agreed to the amendment
and it went over as amended.
SB 834, PN 970: The bill amends the Library Code to add two
additional members to the Advisory Council on Library Development. A
vote of 50-0 was recorded.
SB 876, PN 1446: The legislation would amend
Title 18 (Crimes and
Offenses) further providing for sexual abuse of children. A vote of
50-0 was recorded.
