PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 437, PN 853: This legislation would amend the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act to abrogate certain sections of the 2006 International Residential Code related to foundation walls. A vote of 50-0 was recorded in concurrence with House amendments.

HB 906, PN 1887: This bill would amend the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Act to extend this $25 million grant program until 2012, add advanced life support squads to the program, and make several other changes. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 726, PN 1170: This bill would amend the Mechanics’ Lien Law of 1963 to make a change to the residential construction exclusion. Sen. Browne offered amendment A1382, which added language that would prohibit anyone from filing a lien for more than the price of the contract, minus any payments already made. The Senate agreed to the amendment. Sen. Browne also offered amendment A642, which added language that stipulates any lien would be subordinate to a refinanced mortgage. The Senate adopted the amendment by a voice vote, and the bill went over as amended.

SB 799, PN 1165: This legislation would amend the Rural Pennsylvania Revitalization Act. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 844, PN 1142: This bill would amend the Real Estate Licensing and Registration Act to provide further for prohibited acts and for the handling of deposits and other escrows. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 877, PN 1039: This bill would amend the Public Welfare Code to add several definitions and provide for three mandatory managed care programs: one located in southeastern Pennsylvania, one in southwestern Pennsylvania, and one in the Lehigh Valley and Capital Region. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
