PASSED THE SENATE

 

SB 846, PN 1187: This bill contains state and federal supplemental appropriations for FY 2006-07. A vote of 42-7 was recorded.

SB 930, PN 1113: This non-preferred appropriations bill would designate funds to the University of Pittsburgh. A vote of 47-2 was recorded.

SB 87, PN 121:  Under this legislation, the Department of General Services would be required to establish a policy and promulgate regulations regarding veteran-owned businesses. The state’s various purchasing agencies would be required to set an annual goal of issuing at least 5 percent of their contracts (by total dollar amount) to veteran-owned businesses.  Senator Tomlinson offered amendment A01285, which defines various terms.  It also provides for an annual report with the first one being due by October 1, 2008 and requires that each purchasing agency submit individual reports.  The Senate agreed to the amendment.

SB 612, PN 663: This legislation would amend the Landscape Architects’ Registration Law to enhance the continuing education requirement for licensed landscape architects. A vote of 46-3 was recorded.

SB 648, PN 700: This bill would authorize the sale of the Ligonier Armory in Westmoreland County. Senator Kasunic offered amendment A01635, which authorizes DGS and the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to convey land to the city of Connellsville for 50,000.  The Senate agreed to the amendment.

SB 737, PN 1188:  The legislation amends Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) by changing the repeal of the expiration date (December 31, 2007) of Act 141 of 2002, which permits certain underage individuals to assist in compliance checks.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.
