PASSED THE SENATE

 

HB 1286, PN 1983: This is the general budget bill for the 2007-08 fiscal year. The current version would spend approximately $27 billion, a 2.7 percent increase over last year’s budget. A vote of 49-1 was recorded.

SB 87, PN 1197: This legislation would require the state to establish procurement goals for veteran-owned businesses. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 399, PN 851: This Democratic-sponsored bill would permit school districts to use accountability block grant funds for world language programs in the elementary grades. It would also prohibit use of these funds for the acquisition of laptop computers, high school curriculum reform, and elementary science curricula. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 648, PN 1198: This bill would authorize the sale of the Ligonier Armory and the National Guard Armory in Connellsville. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 752, PN 828: This legislation would require the Independent Regulatory Review Commission to consider “acceptable data” (defined as empirical, replicable, and testable data as evidenced in supporting documentation, statistics, reports, studies, or research) when determining if a proposed regulation is in the public interest. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.
