PASSED THE SENATE

 

HB 842, PN 2169:  The legislation amends the Public School Code to require that the Department of Education may only place a teacher’s certificate in inactive status between June 30 and July 31 for noncompliance with continuing education requirements, and the bill also authorizes funding for education programs for the 2007-08 fiscal year, transferred programs and classes, distressed school districts and student attendance, enrollment, and power of superintendents.  The House having non-concurred in Senate amendments, the Senate insisted on its amendments. A conference committee was appointed, consisting of the following members:

SB 116, PN 1323: The bill amends the Judicial Code extending the master list of prospective jurors, providing for proportional reduction of certain county court reimbursements, providing for senior judge operational support grants; and further directs the Commission on Sentencing to adopt guidelines. A vote of  was recorded on concurrence. 

SB 623, PN 1324:  The bill amends the Crimes Code to clarify the powers of corrections officer and to provide authorization for the use of force for such persons, and to provide a definition of firearm for theft prosecutions and for tracing and recording illegal guns.  A vote of  was recorded on concurrence. 

HB 1203, PN 2340:  This bill amends Pennsylvania’s “Advanced Energy Portfolio Standards Act”  (Act 213 of 2004).  A vote of was recorded. 

HB 1530, PN 2298:  Senator Costa offered amendment A3126, which

HB 1656, PN 2341:  This legislation authorizes the conveyance of lands in Skippack Township, Montgomery County in exchange for lands in Evansburg State Park; the sale of land in Winslow Township, Jefferson County to Jefferson County and the conveyance of land to Mansfield Borough, Tioga County.  The bill also authorizes the Department of General Services to sell the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia State Office Buildings.  A vote of was recorded.
