SB25, PN16:
This bill would
amend the
Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act of 2004 to remove certain
energy sources from Tier II, such as by-products of the pulping process
and wood manufacturing process, including bark, wood chips, sawdust and
lignin in spent pulping liquors. These would be considered a Tier I
energy source that already included energy derived from cellulosic waste
material.
Senator Waugh
offered Amendment A04638 that clarifies certain definitions as
well as directs the PA Public Utility Commission to annually increase
the percentage share of Tier I alternative energy sources required to be
sold by an electric company or supplier.
The Senate agreed to
the amendment and the bill went over as amended.
