SB 949, PN 1744: This bill creates the “Bituminous Coal Mine
Safety Act” and is an extensive revision of Pennsylvania’s underground
mine safety law. The bill applies to all underground bituminous coal
mines in Pennsylvania. A 49-0 vote was recorded.
HB 500, PN 2777:
This bill amends the “Medical Practice Act” to further provide for
perfusionist licensing, qualifications, supervision and scope of
practice, regulations and exemptions. HB 500 is part of a two-bill
package (HB 500 & HB 501) to statutorily codify the licensing of
perfusionists. On behalf of Senator Mellow, Senator Costa offered
Amendment A05815, which was technical in nature. The amendment was
agreed to and the bill went over in its order.
