PASSED THE SENATE

 

 

SB 1027, PN 1302: The legislation amends section 9904 of Title 42 (Judicial Code) to further expand the use of the State Intermediate Punishment program.  The legislation authorizes the Department of Corrections at the time the department takes custody of an offender and evaluates them for classification as an offender who would have been otherwise eligible for participation in the state intermediate punishment program.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 1172, PN 1588: The bill amends Title 35 (Health and Safety) by ensuring that during a disaster emergency, nothing in the legislation can be interrupted to authorize the Governor to seize, take or confiscate lawfully possessed firearms or ammunition.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

HB 1691, PN 2225: This legislation holds the United States Army Corps of Engineers harmless from all damages arising from construction, operation and maintenance of the Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project.  A 49-1 vote was recorded.

SB 1, PN 1763: This bill amends the act of June 21, 1957, referred to as the Right-to-Know Law.

SR 224, PN 1703: This resolution directs the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study the cost for wastewater treatment plants to comply with the Department of Environmental Protection’s Chesapeake Bay Tributary Strategy.  The resolution was adopted.

SR 233, PN 1747: This resolution declares the week of March 9-15, 2008 as “Problem Gambling Awareness Week” in Pennsylvania.  The resolution was adopted.

SR 234, PN 1748: The bill designates March 6, 2008, as “Lymphedema D-Day” in Pennsylvania.  The resolution was adopted. 

SR 235, PN 1749: The legislation designates the month of March 2008 as “Youth Art Month” in Pennsylvania.  The resolution was adopted.
