PASSED THE SENATE

 

 

SB 684, PN 1970: This legislation creates the Public Health Child Death Review Act in which State and local review teams will examine the circumstances surrounding deaths of children in Pennsylvania.  The purpose of the program is to promote safety and reduce child fatalities.  Senator Baker offered Amendment A06857, which was technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended. 

SB 1149, PN 1973: This legislation adds mass transit employees to the list of officers and employees under the current aggravated assault statute.  The bill passed 47-3.

SB 731, PN 1986: This bill would require that schools develop written policy for possession and self-administration of an epinephrine auto-injector (epi-pen) by a child in a school setting, transportation, activity or program.  The school must develop a system to verify a child’s capability to use the epi-pen.  Senator Orie offered Amendment A06865, which was technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill was moved up. 

SR 294, PN 1985: This resolution reaffirms that the acquisition of lands in the Allegheny National Forest by the United States is conditioned on the preservation of property interests.  The resolution was adopted unanimously.
