PASSED THE SENATE

 

 

HB 1614, PN 2782:  This bill amends the Fiscal Code to further provide for the implementation language for the 2009-10 budget.  It also amends the Fiscal Code and Banking Code by giving the power of the State Workers’ Insurance Board to increase the investment of assets from the State Workers’ Insurance Fund in equities. It also changes the date in which these terms will expire to June 30, 2010.  A vote of 35-14 was recorded.

SB 1033, PN 1481:  This bill amends Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes related to the Gaming Act providing authorization to the Gaming Board to permit the operation of table games at various gaming venues in the Commonwealth.  A vote of 29-20 was recorded

SB 1088, PN 1482:  This bill amends Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes related to the Race Horse Development and Gaming Act and further provides for a declaration of exemption from Federal laws prohibiting slot machines.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded. 

HB 1416, PN 2772:  This legislation is the 2009-10 general appropriations act which spends $27.834 billion.  The Senate concurred in House amendments by a vote of 42-7. 

SB 369, PN 1478:  The bill amends the Emergency and Law Enforcement Personnel Death Benefits Act by requiring a death certificate be submitted within 90 days upon the death of a law enforcement officer, ambulance service or rescue squad member, firefighter, certified hazardous material response team or National Guard member.  The bill further states who will receive $100,000 upon the receipt of a death certificate of particular individuals as well as an amount equal to the individual’s monthly salary.  The Senate concurred in House amendments by a vote of 49-0. 

SR 153, PN 1327:  This resolution urges Congress to pass legislation that amends the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act to exclude youth all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, and snowmobiles from the lead requirements of the act.  The Senate agreed to the adoption.
