School Security

Royersford – September 12, 2019 – Sen. Katie Muth (D-Berks, Chester, Montgomery) is encouraging local school districts to apply for the School Safety and Security Grant Program and for municipalities to apply for Community Violence Prevention/Reduction grants.

“Both of these grant programs aim to strengthen safety efforts in our schools and throughout our communities,” said Muth. “Safety and security remain a priority and are fresh on our minds as children return to school and our communities continue to grow.”

The School Safety and Security Grant Program and Community Violence Prevention/Reduction grants are administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD)

Applications for both funding programs are due to PCCD by November 4, 2019. School districts and community entities who are approved will be awarded funding at the February 2020 School Safety and Security meeting.

“My district office team is ready to help local schools and communities navigate this application process,” said Muth. “We want to ensure that the 44th District is prepared and approved for assistance to enhance safety in our area.”
