HB 1638, PN 2443 (Tobash) – Amends the Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser Act to allow motor vehicle appraisers to prepare repair estimates by using photographs, videos or by telephonic means, in addition to the current procedure of personal inspection. Senator McGarrigle offered amendment A06008, which authorizes supplemental repair estimates via personal inspection or electronic means, provided that where disputed, a personal inspection is required. The amendment was approved, 48-1. Senator Williams offered amendment A06234 on behalf of Senator Costa. The agreed to amendment was purely technical in nature. The bill went over in its order as amended.
