SB 934, PN 1515 (Laughlin) – This bill would provide for placement of smoke detectors on each floor and the basement of family child care homes and require the PA Department of Human Services to include such smoke detectors in its inspections. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 935, PN 1516 (Laughlin) – This legislation would amend the Fire and Panic act by requiring all family childcare facilities to have interconnected smoke detection devices. SB 1110, PN 1659 (K. Ward) – The bill amends the Disease Prevention and Control Law of 1955 to require the release of individually identifiable health information to 911 centers, law enforcement officers, fire department personnel and emergency medical services personnel in each county of the commonwealth. Under a proclamation of disaster emergency issued by the Governor that is based on a communicable disease, the Secretary of Health or local health authority shall release individually identifiable health information to certain entities within 24 hours of a confirmed case.  Senator Killion offered amendment 05376 which adds definitions and provides for reports by physicians who treat persons with communicable diseases. The amendment was agreed to by a voice vote. The bill was approved by a vote of 47-3.
