PHILADELPHIA − June 18, 2020 − Senator Anthony H. Williams has announced free COVID-19 testing coming to southwest Philadelphia.
On Saturday, June 20th from 10am to 4pm, free testing will be available at the Church of Christian Compassion at 6121 Cedar Avenue for those who are having coronavirus-type symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested or suspected to be positive for coronavirus.
The event is held in partnership with the Church, Pastor Herndon, and the Black Doctors Consortium.
“COVID-19 has disparately impacted black and brown communities across this country, and the threat isn’t over just because counties are moving into the Green stage,” said Senator Williams. “More testing is still needed and this will be the first opportunity for broad testing in southwest Philadelphia. It was important to me that we make it accessible to my constituents so they can seek care and take precautions, as needed.”
